This is a question and a warning. Question: what is the best way to manage the risk of a sudden lock out from the Creative Cloud service? Eg how can one best quickly access urgent help? Warning: people should be aware of the risk of sudden lock-out and take steps to prepare themselves for if this happens, and consider the impact on them if it occurs at a problematic time for them.
Background: This morning I got an email that my Creative Cloud membership had been suspended as my credit card needed to be updated. Not good to have no warning, but at least I thought I could correct it quickly. However, the links on the email led to broken Adobe webpages meaning I couldn't update the details. So I remained locked out. There was a suggestion I could phone the help line, but the number given was closed until 5am Pacific Time. I eventually navigated the confusing help pages and was directed to a 24 hour chat help line. But they couldn't help or take feedback/suggestions. They suggested a UK phone number (020 7365 0735) but after following the menu options I got to a dead end. I found another UK number (0800 028 0148) and they were ultimately able to update my details and reinstate my service.
I then tried report the problem and provide helpful suggestions for improving the service. Difficult to find how (one reason for this post). I found a link to 'report a bug' ... but it led to another broken webpage! (Eventually it worked using Chrome rather than Safari, but it only allowed me to report bugs in particular applications, not on webpages. Ho hum).
I really want Creative Cloud to work well but I wish Adobe made it more reliable and easier to seek help and provide feedback. I fear it may be to risky to be fully relied upon without a local (non cloud) fall back option.
This has all taken almost two hours of my time to deal with. Not good!
