In the past, Adobe released a major Photoshop upgrade about every two years, and the cost of upgrading to each new version was about $200. That's $100 per year. By comparison, the cost of using Photoshop CC (or any other single Adobe CC app) is $20 a month, or $240 a year. That's an extra $140 a year for the privilege of using an app that immediately stops working if you ever stop paying for it. The standalone version of any Creative Suite app, on the other hand, could very likely continue to be used for at least several years if the user did not want to upgrade. Some deal this is!
