Some Cloud Apps close when I try to browse the finder

When I try and open the finder under certain programs the program will crash.

I'm running a MAS OS 10.6.8, 8 core Intel, 16 Gigs of ram.

The program that is doing it today is Illustrator.

I started a new document then tried to place an image. The finder opened I tried to delect the location where the image was and it pinwheeled then closed illustrator.

Can anyone help me with this.
