I've seen this problem brought up frequently throughout these forums, but I cannot seem to get this issue resolved. I have installed/uninstalled Illustrator, cleaned up fonts and font cache, repaired permissions and nothing seems to work. It looks like it's going to load, gets to the pallette and then crashes out with a very long crash log. I have clients that are waiting on me and I cannot get this program to work. All of the other programs are working great. I tried looking at the "special permissions" but for some reason my version of Snow Leopard is not compatible with the provided startup CD and it wont work in the drive, perhaps because of software upgrades?
I'm using an 27" iMac with Snow Leopard 10.6.8, 2.6 GHz, 16 GB of RAM, 1TB hard drive.
Any help with this is greatly appreciated.
