Hello:
I am about to order a new laptop and am hoping someone could give me their thoughts about my purchase.
I've called Adobe but they weren't really all that helpful and I posted on an Intel forum but I've yet to receive any feedback.
Mostly I am worried about choosing a computer w/a good enough (for the $) Graphics card as my current laptop doesn't have one good enough to be used at all with Ps and Illy.
Here are the specs of one I am considering:
- Includes Envy dv7-7250nr notebook, six-cell lithium-ion battery, AC adapter, PC Treasures software
- 2.4GHz 3rd-generation Intel Core i7-3630QM processor, up to 3.4GHz with Turbo Boost < does anyone know if this will work well with the CC apps such as Ps & Illy?
- 17.3" diagonal HD+ BrightView LED-backlit display, 1600x900 resolution
- 8GB DDR3 SDRAM
- 1TB 5400 RPM hard drive with HP ProtectSmart hard drive protection
- SuperMulti DVD burner
- 802.11b/g/n Wi-Fi
- WiDi-ready
- Intel Smart Connect technology
- Bluetooth
- Intel HD Graphics 4000, up to 1696MB memory < i read on the specs page re: the Master Collection that a NVIDIA or AMD Radeon is recommended but i checked the Intel HD 4000 out & it seems like
- Beats Audio quad speakers, subwoofer it would be good enough for 3D which i haven't been able to do at all w/my current laptop.
- HP TrueVision HD webcam, dual array digital mic
- HP SimplePass with integrated fingerprint reader
- HP CoolSense
- Touchpad
- 10/100/1000 gigabit ethernet
- SD, MMC memory card reader
- Three USB 3.0 ports
- USB 2.0, HDMI, VGA, RJ-45 ports
- Headphone/mic jacks
- Windows 8
Do you know if the GPU really needs to be dedicated?
How does one know if the Graphics Card has VRAM? do all graphics cards have VRAM?
okay, well back to doing research just thought i'd pop in here to see if i could grab some input from people w/more computer experience than i have
thanks so much for your time!!
